- Describe the role of aggressive, multifaceted approaches to attaining treatment goals including glycemic control, controlling weight, and reducing macrovascular and microvascular complications.
- Enhance awareness of the prevalence of renal impairment in T2DM and discuss the importance of early and accurate diagnosis, stage identification, treatment considerations, and follow up.
- Describe the mechanisms of action and clinical data describing the safety and efficacy of available and emerging therapies in T2DM patients with microvascular and macrovascular complications.
- Discuss strategies to align and incorporate practice guidelines and consensus recommendations for therapy intensification into patient care to optimize outcomes of T2DM therapies.
- Discuss appropriate management options for side effects associated with T2DM therapies that often limit patient tolerability.
