Boehringer Ingelheim Executives Recognized for Supporting Diversity Initiatives

Ridgefield, Conn. (November 14, 2011) – Two Boehringer Ingelheim executives were honored for their individual contributions to a more diverse workplace at The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center’s 14th annual Women’s Event, which took place on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Marla Persky, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Boehringer Ingelheim and Nancy Di Dia, Executive Director & Chief Diversity Officer at Boehringer Ingelheim, were given the Center’s Corporate Leader award for their persistent endorsement of diversity initiatives to the company’s U. S. workforce of more than 10,000 employees. Comedian Wanda Sykes and Country Music Star Chely Wright were also honored at the event and presented Ms. Persky and Ms. Di Dia with their awards.

Dedicated to increasing diversity in the legal sector, Marla Persky has managed global legal services, been General Manager of an international device business, integrated acquired businesses, designed and implemented legal strategies to manage global mass torts, and led crisis management teams. As a straight ally, Ms. Persky is the executive sponsor of the LGBT employee resource group at Boehringer Ingelheim.

Chief Diversity Officer Nancy Di Dia has more than 25 years of experience in management and diversity practices in corporate America. Under her leadership, Boehringer Ingelheim achieved the number one position from the Association of Diversity Councils as well as a perfect score on the Corporate Equality Index from the Human Rights Campaign for the best places to work for LGBT for three consecutive years.
