Value Through Innovation is Our Vision

Boehringer Ingelheim, founded in 1885 by Albert Boehringer (1861-1939) in Ingelheim, Germany, began with just 28 people employed to manufacture tartaric acid salts. Now, 125 years later we are a global enterprise, employing more than 41,500 people in 50 countries. Our focus is primarily in the therapeutic areas of cardiovascular disease, respiratory diseases, diseases of the central nervous system, metabolic diseases, virological diseases and oncology.

Our Objectives

The objectives and beliefs of Boehringer Ingelheim can be summed up in a single phrase: Value through Innovation. This vision has helped us build on our strengths and make the most of our distinctive character for 125 years. Value through Innovation is what drives us to continuously search for new and innovative ways to improve the lives that we touch - whether that be lives of patients and their families, our employees or our community.
