Solid Tumors

The following areas are of research interest:

  1. Clinical research studies involving afatinib (BIBW 2992) as monotherapy or in combination with approved treatments for:
        a.  Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)  
        b.  Head and Neck Cancer
        c.  Breast Cancer  
        d.  Other solid tumors 
  2. Clinical research studies involving BIBF 1120 as monotherapy or in combination with approved treatments for:
        a.  Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) 
        b.  Ovarian Cancer
        c.  Gastrointestinal Cancer
        d.  Other solid tumors

Prior to submission, please contact the BIPI Medical IIS Office by calling 877-757-7354 for more information and assistance.

After you contact the BIPI Medical IIS Office researchers or physicians must submit a preliminary proposal. In order for BIPI to determine interest in the IIS concept, the following information will be required in the proposal:

  • Full title of the study
  • Name and contact of principle investigator
  • Study rationale
  • Study objectives
  • Study design
  • Statistical methods
  • Data Management Plan/System
  • Requested Support (Drug, Funding or both)
  • Drug Supply Request (BIPI Drug and/or non-BIPI Drug)
  • Preliminary Budget (incl. Direct, Indirect Costs and Fees)

Submission of a preliminary Proposal does not imply or guarantee approval. All proposals will be reviewed based on scientific merit and available funding.
